Sean O’Sullivan has been announced as the BT Young Scientist of the Year.
Seán from Coláiste Chiaráin in Limerick beat out 549 different projects for the top spot with his algorithm that detects if ChatGPT has plagiarised an author.

He has won a cash prize of €7,500 and will represent Ireland at the European Union Contest for Young Scientists in Poland later this year.
