The High Court has heard jailed businessman Sean Quinn Senior is dropping his legal team.
The former billionaire is serving a 9-week sentence for contempt of court orders put in place to stop Quinn assets being put beyond the reach of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation (IBRC).
The court has heard Mr. Quinn informed his solicitor that his services would no longer be required during a prison visit 2 weeks ago.
A formal application for the lawyers to come off-record will be made on Monday but Judge Elizabeth Dunne acknowledged there may be practical difficulties because Mr. Quinn is in custody.
She has suggested that a letter outlining his consent to the move may be required.
Family hire new lawyers
Meanwhile the court heard the rest of the Quinn family with the exception of Peter-Darragh Quinn have hired new lawyers who need time to review the contempt case.
They say however that Sean Quinn Junior has given clear and unequivocal instructions that he wishes to purge his contempt.
IBRC agreed to the case being put back until December 13th.
