The man (27) who died in a boating accident in Lough Ree has been named locally as David Warnock from Armagh City. His mother is the cousin of the Deputy Mayor of Craigavon, Colin McCusker.
Mr. Warnock was one of two fishermen rescued from the lake near Athlone yesterday after a boat capsized. A man in his 60s remains in a critical condition, while a search is continuing for a third man in his 30s.

That operation involves the Garda water unit, the Lough Ree RNLI Lifeboat, the Civil Defence and local aqua, angling and jet ski clubs.
Councillor McCusker says the tragedy has affected his family and the community.
However conditions have deteriorated this afternoon, with heavy rain and strong winds hampering the search.
Mr. Warnock died at Galway University Hospital after was rescued from the water yesterday afternoon.
He was among the three men in a small fishing boat that capsized in strong winds on the lake close to the Hodson Bay pier near Athlone.

Martin McEnroe is from the Angling Council of Ireland. He says the conditions on Lough Ree at the time of the incident were poor.
