A man has drowned in the sea off Donegal, in the ninth death in the water in recent weeks.
A 24 year old man got into difficulty off the beach at Ardara in Donegal around 2 o'clock this afternoon.
He was airlifted to Letterkenny General Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
A search is also underway this evening for a 60 year old man, who's missing after going swimming in a quarry in Tipperary.
The alarm was raised around 6.30 after he failed to return from a swim at the Ahenny Slate Quarry, near Carrick-on-Suir.
Gardaí, the Coastguard and local rescuers are at the scene searching for him.
Meanwhile, a 32 year old woman was taken to hospital around 4 this afternoon, after being rescued from the River Nore in Kilkenny City.
Gardai say her condition is not serious.
