Survivor helping in search for missing fisherman on Lough Ree

Information provided by a man who survived a boating accident on Lough Ree is being used in the search for an angler missing and feared drowned.

The search to find a man missing and feared drowned in is now in its fourth day.

Up to 120 people are taking the search operation for missing Co. Armagh man Daryl Burke (30).

He was one of three men who were in a boat that sunk on Lough Ree last Thursday.

David Warnock (27) was taken from the water but later died, while John Trimble (60) survived and remains in hospital.

Regional Diving Officer with Lough Ree Sub Aqua Club Michael Farrell told Midlands 103 News that Mr. Trimble's story is helping to narrow the search.

Both were taken from the water following the incident last Friday.

RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager in Lough Ree Damien Delaney says progress was made in the search yesterday, when a specialist rescue dog was drafted in to help.
