Searches for a fisherman missing off the north Clare Coast have been called off for the evening.
The 42-year-old man was swept off rocks while fishing between Doolin and Fanore yesterday.
Two people were with him at the time and attempted unsuccessfully to rescue him.
He is originally from Latvia but had been living in Lanesboro, County Longford.
Searches involving the Doolin Unit of the Irish Coast Guard, the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter and Navy divers continued throughout today.
But they have now been stood down for the evening due to deteriorating weather conditions.
They are expected to resume in the morning.
