A search is resuming off Valentia island in Co. Kerry for a fisherman missing since last night.
The 32-year-old was part of an angling group on the shore.
He entered the water off some rocks at 10:50pm.
The alarm was raised immediately and the Shannon Rescue Helicopter, Valentia lifeboat and the local Knightstown Coastguard Unit all searched the water around the northern side of the island until the early hours.
Searching was then suspended for the night but is underway again this morning.
Waterford rescue helicopter has joined with Valentia lifeboat and the Knightstown coastguard in the operation.
