A search is resuming for a man who fell into the River Nore in Co Kilkenny overnight.

The man (33) was with a group of friends when he fell into the water at around 1:30am this morning at Canice's Mill in Thomastown.

A search was immediately mounted - involving gardaí, the local civil defence and the Waterford Coastguard.

It is being concentrated on an area between Inistioge and Thomastown.
