A search is taking place in Co Louth for the remains of a Belfast woman who went missing over two years ago.
28-year-old Saoirse Smyth was last seen on 11th April 2017, with police later launching a murder investigation.
Gardaí say they're assisting the PSNI, and today they began the search of a forest area in Omeath.
Detectives with the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) are leading the search, supported by the Louth Divisional Search Team, Garda Technical Bureau, PSNI investigators, specialist forensic archaeologist and specialist cadaver search dogs.
It follows the technical search of a house in the Omeath area in July 2018.
Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing for any information in relation to Saoirse's murder or disappearance.
She was last seen in the Belfast area in April 2017.
She had "very distinctive" red hair, was approximately 5’0” tall and was of slim build.
In a statement, gardaí said: "An Garda Síochána is asking anyone who has any information in relation to the murder / disappearance of Saoirse Smyth to contact the incident room in Dundalk Garda Station at 042 9388470 or the Garda Confidential Phone line at 1800 666 111 or The Police Service of Northern Ireland at the PSNI incident room Ladas Drive on 101 or 00442890700355.
"Alternatively information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
Police in the North have previously said Saoirse's last movements in April 2017 can be traced to Omeath, where she was living at the time of her disappearance.
