The search will resume tomorrow for a fisherman who was washed into the sea in Co Clare this evening.

The 42-year-old man had been fishing off rocks near Fanore at around 5.30pm.

A search operation got underway earlier this evening involving the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard, the Shannon based rescue helicopter and gardaí.

A search will resume early tomorrow morning.
