The Coastal Search Unit is a new organisation that was set up in the wake of an enormous effort to locate Michael Bugler, an NUIG student whose body was found on the shores of Galway bay at the start of the year.

The group is advising volunteers that it's "essential that you have a pair of wellies, a hi-viz jacket and a stick."

Mr Garrett is a Private in the Irish Defence Forces, and members of the Defence Forces are heavily involved in the search.

Anyone who has seen Ben, or who can help find him, is asked to contact Galway garda station on 091-538-000.
