A second man has been charged in connection with a serious assault on two off-duty Gardaí in Dublin this weekend.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, two off-duty Gardaí were seriously assaulted on Dame Street.
Earlier this week a man in his 30s was charged in connection with the incident and now a second man in his 30s has also been charged.
He is expected to appear before Dublin District Court this morning.
One of the injured parties, a male Garda in his 40s, remains in critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.
The other Garda was assessed and later discharged by medics.
It is understood that both Gardaí are members of the Armed Support Unit, who were making their way home after a social event in the city on Friday night.
Investigations are ongoing.
