A second man has died following a road accident in Co. Westmeath at the weekend.

The 29-year-old man passed away in hospital this afternoon.

He was critically injured in the single-vehicle crash which happened outside Mullingar on Saturday afternoon.

Another man in his late 20s died on Saturday from injuries he sustained in the crash.

Gardai are renewing their appeal for anyone who was on Kilucan to Mullingar Road between 11am and 12.45pm last Saturday to contact them.
