Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting in Co. Kildare have confirmed that a second man has been taken to hospital - with injuries to his hand - which are not believed to be life threatening.
A 33 year old man was rushed to Naas General Hospital just before 6am with serious gunshot wounds - following an incident at a house in Kilmeague.
He died a short time later.
Investigating officers say they have recovered a legally held shotgun and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Naas Garda Station.
No arrests have been made and Gardaí say they are keeping an open mind and are not ruling out the possibility that the man's death may have been accidental.
