A second person injured in a crash involving a stolen taxi in Dublin has died.

The man aged in his 20s died at the Mater Hospital earlier this afternoon where he was being treated for his injuries.

A second man, also in his 20s, was killed instantly when the cab hit a bridge on North Wall Quay early yesterday morning.

There were three male occupants in the vehicle when it collided with a lock bridge on the quay. The taxi had been taken from its owner prior to the collision.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone who was on North Wall Quay between 2am and 3am on Monday to contact Store Street Garda Station.

This latest death brings to five the number of people killed on the roads over the weekend.
