Senator Averil Power has said changing the face of Irish politics is still a "challenge."

Today is the 107th International Women's Day, which recognises female achievement and the need for equality.

Senator Power was speaking to Aingeala Flannery on The Sunday Show.

She says 85% of the Dáil are male, and that more women are need, "not because we're better but because they're different."
