A Labour senator is calling on RTÉ to "get on with it" and publish the working document on its investigation into the 'Frontline' Presidential debate.
Yesterday the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI) said it is broadly satisfied with the RTÉ assessment of the programme during which an anonymous tweet was put to candidate Seán Gallagher.
However the BAI also called on the broadcaster to publish the working document which it said indicated that the failings were more significant than the RTÉ published report shows.
Labour Senator and member of the Oireachtas Communications Committee John Whelan is urging RTÉ to publish the document.
"It's taken a year - RTÉ are the first people to say that the HSE cannot investigate itself, politicians cannot investigate themselves and the gardai cannot investigate themselves - and rightly so" he said.
"And a year on, we're still none the wiser as to what happened in this programme".
"The devil is in the detail, and RTÉ should just get on with it and publish the working document" he added.
Minister: Row is meaningless
The Communications Minister says he is not sure why there is a squabble between RTÉ and the BAI over the report into the 'Frontline' Presidential debate.
Minister Pat Rabbitte says this row seems meaningless.
"Well I'm not sure it's a very meaningful squabble, and I'm not sure that anybody can explain to me what exactly it's about" he said.
"I mean there was a report done, it was submitted to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland required RTÉ to publish it - and they published it" he added.
