Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Dublin city centre over the weekend.
The man, aged in his 20s, was attacked by another man at the junction of Aston Quay and Westmoreland Street at 3:50am on Saturday morning.
He was taken to St James’s Hospital with serious head injuries.
Investigators said they believe the attacker was topless and fled the scene across O’Connell Bridge.
He turned left towards Bachelor’s Walk before turning in towards Bachelor’s Way.
Gardaí are appealing to witnesses or anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area to come forward.
They are also calling for motorists travelling in the area who may have dash-cam footage to contact them.
