Seven people have been injured after they interrupted a burglary at an apartment in Dublin.
Gardaí said two men broke into the apartment in Leopardstown at around 3pm yesterday.
Their attempt to rob the property was interrupted when seven people who were in the next room heard them entering.
A number of the residents were assaulted as they were attempting to hold the men until Gardaí arrived.
When they arrived, Gardaí arrested two men attempting to flee the scene. They seized a hammer and stolen property from them.
Two men, aged in their 40s, were taken to Dundrum Garda Station.
Gardaí said all seven people in the apartment were injured and some of them sought medical attention.
