Seven people have died in a shooting at a government office in eastern Turkey.

It is reported a former employee of the Turkish Statistics Institute (TUIK) who had been sacked was behind the attack in Kars.

They then turned the gun on themselves.

An official is quoted as saying that the incident was not a terrorist attack.

It is reported that as well as the seven fatalities, one person was also slightly wounded.
