A 7 year old boy who fell into a flooded river in Co Cork on Saturday has lost his fight for life in a Dublin hospital tonight.
The boy who's from the Tir Cluain Estate in Midleton died at the intensive care unit at Our Lady's Hospital in Crumlin this evening.
He had been transferred there from Cork following his rescue from the Owenacurra river near his home just before 7 o'clock on Saturday evening.

James had been was playing with three friends on a field in the estate on the Fermoy Road when he gained entry to the riverbank through a gap in fencing and fell into the water.
