A number of arrests have been made following an incident on Shelbourne Road in Dublin following Ireland’s game against England.
There was a heavy Garda presence around the city since Friday night ahead of the Nations League match at Aviva Stadium.
Horse-mounted gardaí, along with the Garda helicopter, also patrolled the south city centre and adjoining suburbs.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed an incident had taken place and several arrests had been made.
No injuries have been reported.
England defeated Ireland 2-0 at the Aviva Stadium last night.
Jack Grealish and Declan Rice – both of whom played for Ireland in the past – scored England’s winning goals.
Rice played three senior friendlies for the Republic of Ireland before switching allegiance to England in 2019.
Grealish previously played at youth level – and received boos from Irish fans after he secured England’s second goal.
Ireland will play England once again in the Nations League on November 17th at Wembley Stadium.
