An investigation is underway after a number of packages washed up along the north Donegal coastline.
Gardaí say the packages are believed to contain cocaine, subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
The discovery was made at around 8:30am on Wednesday morning, when officers were alerted to the discovery of a package at Ballyhiernan Beach in Fanad.
Half an hour later, Gardaí were altered by the public to another, similar package at Tramore Beach in Dunfanaghy.
Both packages were recovered and are now subject to analysis.
The scenes were subject to a technical examination by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit.
An investigation is ongoing at Milford Garda station, with assistance from the Garda Air Support Unit and Garda Water Unit.
Other State and voluntary services are also searching along the north Donegal/Fanad Head coastline.
Gardaí are appealing to landowners in the area with coastal land, and/or any persons using the north Donegal coastline over the coming days, to be conscious of the packages that have been recovered.
Anyone who sees any similar packages, or any other debris, are asked to contact Milford Garda station on 074-915-3060, their local Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800-666-111.
