Met Eireann has issued severe weather warnings for many areas today.

It says there will be falls of sleet or snow today and tonight affecting the northern half of Leinster, Ulster and North Connaught.

It is also warning of falls on higher ground in Dublin and Wicklow, along with blizzard conditions in places for a time today.
