Sinn Fein has ridiculed the Labour leader Eamon Gilmore who earlier said this government will not flinch from taking tough decisions in the December Budget.
He was speaking at the start of the Labour Party think-in at Carton House in Co. Kildare.
Mr. Gilmore said everybody knows the decisions to be made are difficult.
He said he is satisfied an affordable property tax will be introduced next year.
But he said this government remains committed to doing the job it was elected to do which is to restore the economy.
“Everybody knows that it’s difficult work; everybody knows that the decisions that we have to make in government are difficult – but we’re not going to flinch from them” he said.
“We are going to do the job that we are elected to do, and we’re going to complete it” he added.
However Mary-Lou McDonald of Sinn Fein said the only tough decisions taken by this government affect people with disabilities or special needs.
