Fifty Shades Of Grey author EL James has topped the Forbes Rich list of the world's highest-earning authors.

The writer, who became a sales phenomenon last year, made an estimated 95 million dollars.

A film adaptation of the first of her Fifty Shades erotica trilogy is expected next year.

Second on the Forbes rich list of writers was thriller writer James Patterson - who earned 91 million dollars from book sales in the last year.

While Stephanie Collins who wrote the Hunger Games trilogy earned 55 million dollars - putting her in third place.
