Shane MacGowan and Sinéad O'Connor were honoured at the 65th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night.
Scottish singer Annie Lennox played ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ in memory of her friend Sinead O’Connor.
She played the song as a screen shared the faces of musicians who have passed away over the last year, including Shane MacGowan.
Sinead passed away last July, aged 56, while MacGowan passed away in November, aged 65.

After the performance, Ms Lennox called for an end to fighting in Gaza as she shouted “Artists for ceasefire, peace in the world!” with a raised fist in the air.
Taylor Swift made history at last night's awards ceremony, becoming the first artist to win the Grammy Award for best album four times.
Elsewhere, rapper Killer Mike was arrested after an alleged physical altercation at the show – during which he scooped three awards.
