Shannon Airport remains temporarily closed this morning due to heavy fog.
It shut at around 11pm last night "as a result of unexpected heavy fog during a period of essential taxiway maintenance work."
The airport has warned that flights may be cancelled or delayed this morning.

It is expected to re-open later as soon as the fog clears.
A spokesperson for the Shannon Airport Group said: "Since 11.00pm last night, eight flights due to land at Shannon were diverted to Dublin.
"Three flights due to depart from Shannon last night were cancelled.
"Passengers due to depart on Shannon’s early morning London Heathrow flight were bussed to Dublin this morning."
Affected flights
Flights which were due to land at Shannon and diverted to Dublin were London Stansted, Fuerteventura, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Malta, Oporto, New York JFK and Boston.
The three departing flights cancelled were services to London Stansted, Edinburgh and Liverpool.
Other departures from Shannon have been delayed but are expected to depart later.
Passengers are being advised check with their airline for the most up-to-date flight information.
