Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan resigned this morning, following pressure to withdraw remarks he made about garda whistleblowers.

In a statement, the Commissioner said he had taken the decision for family reasons. 

The news has been welcomed by members of the opposition, who are now calling on Minister Shatter to consider his position. So we want to know what you think?
