There are calls for stricter enforcement of E-scooter rules after footage emerged of someone riding one down the M50 in Dublin.
The footage, shared widely on social media, shows the rider hurtling down the busy motorway wearing a high-viz but no helmet.
They veer across lanes before entering the hard shoulder and taking the exit for Ballymun.
Did nobody tell him you can’t go down the M50 on an E-Scooter? 🤦♂️#MakeIrelandSafeAgain pic.twitter.com/oG6j7guvaY

Vehicles that can't maintain a speed of at least 50kph are not permitted on the M50.
Most E-scooters can go no faster than 25kph – although some models can hit speeds of 48kph.
The incident has prompted calls for greater enforcement of E-scooters rules.
There were 746 traffic incidents involving E-scooters in the country last year - including 554 collisions.
