The terrifying and shocking moment when a helicopter crashed into a block of flats in South Korea earlier this week, was caught on camera and has now surfaced on YouTube.

The video clearly captures the horrifying moment when the search and rescue helicopter falls from the sky and explodes into a ball of fire when it crashes into a block of flats and falls to the city streets.

It is believed that tragically none of the helicopter's five passengers survived the crash, but only one person on the ground sustained minor injuries. 

The helicopter was deployed in search of the 11 people that are still missing following the Sewol ferry disaster in April.

The crash occurred in the city of Gwangju, South Korea’s sixth-largest city, when the helicopter was returning to its headquarters.
