It is reported a teen shot in Dublin yesterday managed to make a 999 call to alert the emergency services.
A 19-year-old man is being questioned by gardai following the gun attack.
It happened at around 3pm in Memorial Park in Inchicore.
The 18-year-old is in a critical condition and it is believed he was shot in the head and neck.
Searches led to arrest
The Irish Impendent reports that the gunman ran towards him as he walked close to a footbridge near the Liffey Gaels GAA club in the park.
As the gunman fled the victim managed to use his mobile phone to make the 999 call for help.
Gardai have also carried out a number of searches in Ballyfermot and this led to the arrest of the 19-year-old suspect.
