Commuters are facing significant delays on Irish Rail Intercity services to and from Heuston Station following a fatality on the line between Portarlington and Portlaoise.

It is believed a train struck and fatally injured a person on the tracks at Portarlington.

Emergency services are currently at the scene.

Galway, Westport and Waterford services are not facing any disruption.
