X Factor boss Simon Cowell is said to be “raging” after the show was beaten in the ratings this weekend by Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly notched up the highest number of viewers it’s ever had for a launch  9.8 million.

It hasn’t been a great week for Simon Cowell, with ratings being down by 3.5 million for X Factor USA despite having two new world-famous judges on the panel;  style="font-weight: bold;">Britney Spears and style="font-weight: bold;">Demi Lovato.

X Factor has proved a turn-off so far with more focus on backstage problems, sob-stories and hardly any singing.
