Sinn Fein call for lowering of voting age to 16

Sinn Fein are recommending that Ireland's voting age be lowered to 16.

The call comes as discussions in relation to the lowering of the age are due to take place in Dublin today and tomorrow as part of the Constitutional Convention.

The convention is to consider proposals to have the voting age lowered to 17 as well as a range of other issues such as reducing the Presidential term of office to five years.
