Sinn Fein says it's fielding the highest number of female candidates for the upcoming elections.

Women make up 33 per cent of local election candidates, while three out of the four Sinn Fein candidates for Europe is female.

The party met in Drogheda Co. Louth this afternoon.

Oireachtas and assembly team members along with MP's gathered with 350 election candidates from across the north and south.
