A Dublin Sinn Féin Councillor has received an anonymous death threat telling him not to attend a Right2Water meeting.

Jonathan Graham, a 20 year old councillor on South Dublin County Council, said the call was made on Monday evening. Graham says the caller, “labelled me a murder and a paedophile protector” and warned him against attending the Right2Water public meeting in his constituency.

He has reported the matter to gardaí.

Graham described the threat as “reprehensible” and said he will “not be deterred from my work on behalf of my constituents.”

“We will not be deterred from the big job of work we have,” he said, “as a republican and a Sinn Féin activist no amount of death threats are going to deter us from what we’re out to do.”
