SIPTU wants action taken to improve safety after a Dublin Bus driver was threatened with a gun.
He was waiting to start driving a number 13 bus at Mountjoy Square on Friday night, when a man got on board and pointed a gun at him.
Dublin Bus said no customers were on board at the time and the organisation is liaising with Gardaí.
SIPTU Transport Sector Organiser John Murphy described what happened.
"I was sitting down the back asking to exit the bus and I wasn't departing for a few minutes," he said.
"But the guy turned around then and pointed a gun at [the driver] and told him he'd blow him away.
"Now, luckily enough he did get off the bus but as you could well believe, our member was very shook up and traumatised by the whole incident."
The 13 and 7a bus routes are not serving Mountjoy Square after 7pm until further notice, as a result.
