SIPTU has hit out at management of Tara Mines in Navan, calling their treatment of staff "unacceptable".
670 workers at the zinc plant were put on protective notice yesterday.
Work is continuing as normal at the facility but employees say they fear for their jobs.

It comes a week before talks are due to take place at the Labour Relations Commission, regarding cuts to worker's pay and conditions.
