The elder sister of Erin Gallagher, the teenager who died by suicide in Co. Donegal less than 2 months ago has died.
It is believed 15-year-old Shannon Gallagher has also taken her own life.
The case of 13-year-old Erin (pictured) received national attention amid allegations that she had been bullied online before her death.
Shannon was a 4th year student at Finn Valley College in Stranorlar which is run by the County VEC.
It has issued a statement saying the thoughts and prayers of everyone are with the Gallagher family at this sad time.
"It is an extremely difficult time for all concerned. Our critical incident team are in place as a support for students and staff. The welfare of students and staff is our primary concern," the statement said.
Shaun Purcell - CEO of Co. Donegal VEC - said he was aware the press and media in general are anxious to cover the tragedy.
"We request however that the appropriate agencies are allowed the necessary time and space to support the school" he added.
The Health Service Executive (HSE) issued a statement saying it has been notified of "a tragic, unexpected death in Donegal".
"Currently the HSE is liasing with the family in relation to this incident and all supports are being made available to provide assistance at this difficult time."
