Six people were arrested in Dublin following an attack on a member of the Gardai overnight.

The incident happened at four o clock this morning in Tallaght when Gardai attended a report of a disturbance at a house at Redwood Lawn.

The Garda received a serious facial injury during the attack.

The two women and four men arrested have been released without charge, while a file is being sent to the DPP.
