A six-year-old girl is in a serious condition in hospital following a hit and run in Dublin.
The crash happened at the pedestrian crossing on the Malahide Road in Coolock at around 7.45pm yesterday evening.
It is thought the six-year-old was struck by a van, at the pedestrian crossing, on the inbound lane of the Darndale roundabout.
The van - which is described as old and dark coloured, possibly green - failed to remain at the scene and continued driving towards Dublin city.
The girl was taken to Temple Street Hospital where her condition is described as serious.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have any information to contact them in Coolock or to phone the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
