A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a mother-of-three in Dublin.
34-year-old Skaidrite Valdgeima was stabbed in an apartment in the Bonham Street area of the city in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
She was originally from Latvia but had lived in Blessington, Co Wicklow, for several years.
Emergency services discovered Ms Valdgeima with a number of stab injuries.
She was brought to hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later
A 22-year-old man appeared in court this afternoon charged with her murder .
The court heard that Latvian national Valerijs Leitons, of St Kevin's Gardens, Dartry in Dublin 6, made no reply when charged.
A request was made that he receive the appropriate psychiatric and medical attention.
He has been remanded in custody to Cloverhill to appear again next Friday.
