A woman has been re-arrested by Gardaí investigating the discovery of a body in the water off Slieve League in County Donegal.
On July 3rd, the body of a man in his 60s was recovered from the water off the Donegal cliffs after a week-long search operation.
Gardaí involved in the search were investigating an alleged fatal assault that reportedly took place in the Slieve League/Killybegs area between Saturday, June 24th, 2023, and Sunday, June 25th.
A man and a woman were arrested early on in the investigation; however, they were released without charge with a file to be prepared for the DPP.
The man was re-arrested and charged in July, and a woman in her 20s has now been re-arrested by Gardaí at a station in Donegal.
The Slieve League or Sliabh Liag mountain sits on the Donegal coast and has some of the highest sea cliffs in Europe.
The area was closed to tourists for around a week while the search was ongoing.
