The only local exit poll in the country suggests Sinn Féin’s Martin Kenny has taken in a huge chunk of the first-preference votes.
The IT Sligo-Ocean FM exit poll has handed Mr Kenny a 21.1% share of the vote.
According to the poll, Fianna Fáil’s Marc MacSharry is on 13.7% with his running mate Eamon Scanlon on 11.8%.
The former TD and MEP Marian Harkin is on 11.2% according to the poll.

Meanwhile, Fine Gael candidates Frank Feighan and Thomas Walsh are on 10.5% and 6.4% respectively.
The survey included 978 voters across the constituency.
The margin for error is +/- 3.13%.
