It seems Irish weather is an unpredictable as ever after a mini-twister was seen over Letterkenny. It formed over about 5 minutes but dissipated shortly after. Eyewitness reports say it never hit the ground.
This is the latest of unusual Irish weather, after soaring sunshine last week along with flooding in parts of the country this week.
Very heavy thundery showers dominated parts of Ulster and North Leinster yesterday, bringing rainfall amounts in excess of 30 millimetres in places.
Meanwhile Met Eireann is forecasting more unsettled and showery weather today, turning a little cooler.
Saturday will see heavy showers die away and many areas will become dry with clear spells, But showers will continue to affect coastal counties of the south and west with lows of 10 to 12 degrees
Sunday will see showers becoming widespread in the afternoon with some thunder likely in places and local spot flooding.
