Retailer Smyths Toys is carrying out a voluntary recall of the 'IMC Cry Babies Nala doll' product.
It has been recalled due to the level of phthalates it contains.
Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to soften and increase the flexibility of plastic and vinyl.
The affected product has been on sale in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom in various Smyths Toys outlets.
But this recall only affects certain serial numbers.
These are 18/10657/-36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 43, 44, 45 and 46.
The serial number can be located in the battery compartment of the doll.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has said approximately 1,260 units have been sold in Ireland.
Anyone with an affected product should stop using it immediately.
The product and its packaging should be returned to a Smyths Toys store.
A refund will be offered to customers.
If the product was purchased online, customers can call Smyths Toys customer service on (091)-336-890, or alternatively complete the online contact form.
