Motorists are being advised to take extra care this evening as wintry conditions cause major delays across the country.
Snowfall has affected routes around Tipperary, Kilkenny, Offaly, Laois, Kildare, Westmeath and Meath and Gardai are advising people to avoid travelling on routes in these areas, due to treacherous conditions and multiple incidents.
Gardai say driving conditions are poor in the midlands on the M4, M7 and M8 and they are asking motorists to exercise caution and reduce speed.
Gardai are also asking drivers to log onto winterready.ie for further advice.
Iarnrod Eireann says all lines are operating this evening with no significant effect of the snow on services.
It had some minor points issues but it's been able to clear them quickly.
Met Eireann currently has a Status Yellow Snow-ice Warning in operation for all of Ireland until 8am tomorrow.
