A status yellow snow-ice warning has been issued for several counties.
The alert is in place for the five counties in Connacht, plus Cavan and Donegal.
It comes into effect from 6.00pm on Sunday until 11.00am Monday.
Met Éireann says there will be wintry showers with some accumulations of snow, especially on high ground.
Generally there will be wintry showers in all areas early tonight, but becoming confined mainly to Ulster, Connacht and west Munster later.

Some will fall as snow, especially on high ground, but also at lower levels in parts of Ulster and Connacht.
There will be lowest temperatures of -1 to +2° with frost and ice in sheltered areas and moderate to fresh southwest winds.
Monday will be cold and blustery with sunny spells and wintry showers - mainly in Ulster, Connacht and west Munster.
There will be some snow in the morning, especially on hills and mountains.
There will also be a risk of hail and thunder.
The east will be mainly dry, with highest temperatures of 3 to 7°.
