A soldier who has been charged with possessing over €25,000 worth of cocaine has been remanded on bail.
Shane Scanlon, of Cooline Heights in Cobh, was brought before Cork District Court this morning after the drugs had been found at Collins Barracks on Wednesday, March 27th.
The 34-year-old Irish Defence Forces member has been charged with cocaine possession and cocaine possession for the purpose of sale or supply.
The special sitting of Cork District Court today heard evidence of his arrest charge and caution from Garda Derry O’Brien from Anglesea Garda Station.
Judge John King remanded Shane Scanlon on bail and he is due to appear before court again on the 15th of July.
